Annual Landscape Care Plan
For homeowners who want their garden to feel calm, intentional, and beautifully structured all year round — without stress, guesswork, or damage.
Philosophy
A considered, seasonal approach to landscape care that prioritises:
Holding form and structure through the seasons
Plant health and vitality by anticipating growth and allowing for a plants natural rhythm and habit
Maintaining proportion, balance, and cohesion over time
Creating a visual calmness through both continuity and contrast with the broader landscape
Reducing disruption through fewer, more intentional interventions
“Everything in my approach centres around timing and technique,
with horticultural and design principles at the fore.”
How The Annual Care Plan Works
Monet Goode
1. Observe & Understand
Every property functions differently. I take time to understand scale, exposure, plant selection, and how the garden is meant to feel.
Emmett Marsh
2. Timed Interventions
Visits are planned around growth cycles, not the calendar. Most properties require four to six carefully timed days per year.
Eleanor Parks
3. Long-term Structure
Rather than cutting hard and correcting later, the garden is gently guided so form and proportion improve year after year.
Our StoryOur journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
This approach suits you if…
Bullet points
You value long-term structure over constant tidiness
You want the garden handled without needing to manage it
You appreciate considered work and quiet consistency
You’re happy working with someone who limits client numbers to protect quality
Soft exclusion (phrased calmly):
If you’re looking for frequent visits or reactive maintenance, this may not be the right fit.

The Structured Garden: Annual Care Program
Hedges and structural planting respond differently across the year. By working with seasonal growth patterns — refining structure in slower periods and guiding form during active growth — the landscape remains healthier, more resilient, and visually composed throughout the year.
This is particularly important in exposed coastal environments.

What the Program Includes
Initial garden assessment and structure review
Seasonally timed hedge and topiary shaping
Coastal-specific plant care considerations
Ongoing oversight and refinement
Priority scheduling throughout the year
All work is guided by long-term outcomes, not short-term fixes.
Each annual care relationship typically includes:
4–6 full-day visits per year
Seasonal timing aligned with plant growth cycles
One property per delivery day
Ongoing refinement of hedge lines, form, and structure
Some clients enjoy understanding the decisions behind the work. Others prefer a fully hands-off experience and simply enjoy the results. Both are welcome.
What the annual care program includes
4–6 full working days per year (property dependent)
Hedge and structural pruning
Seasonal guidance of key plants
Oversight to ensure work is not undone between visits
Ongoing consideration of the garden as a whole
Most visits are full, focused days rather than short maintenance stops.
Investment & Availability
The Annual Care Program is an ongoing investment, typically ranging from $3,600 to $8,000+ per year, depending on property size, exposure, and complexity.
Client numbers are limited, and not all enquiries are accepted.
This service is not offered as a one-off or casual arrangement.
Annual hedge and landscape care is a premium, ongoing service suited to property owners comfortable investing in professional stewardship.
Scope and investment are confirmed following an initial site visit to ensure alignment between the property, the program, and desired outcomes.
Annual care is priced as a yearly commitment rather than per visit.
This reflects the judgement, timing, and responsibility involved, as well as a limited client base to maintain quality and relationship depth.
Pricing is confirmed after a site visit.

Integrated garden oversight (optional)

Some clients prefer a more hands-off arrangement. In these cases, I can also provide oversight of other garden work — such as weeding or general maintenance — to ensure everything stays aligned with the long-term direction of the landscape.
I don’t personally carry out this work, but I help set standards and boundaries so the garden isn’t unintentionally compromised.
The Structured Garden Annual Care Program is an expert-led approach to hedge and topiary care designed to maintain shape, health, and balance throughout the year.
Rather than responding to overgrowth, the program focuses on anticipation, timing, and precision — allowing plants to thrive while holding clean, consistent lines.
A Program, Not a One-Off Service
The Annual Care Program is a long-term approach to hedge trimming, topiary, and landscape structure care for established properties in Whangārei Heads and coastal Northland.
Care is planned seasonally rather than reactively, allowing each visit to support plant health, structure, and longevity. This approach reduces stress on the landscape and avoids the need for heavy corrective work later.
Annual care places are intentionally limited to approximately ten properties per year.
