I work with a small number of Northland properties to quietly maintain healthy, well-formed gardens through the year — without constant intervention..

A considered approach to long term landscape care

Most gardens don’t need more cutting — they need better timing.

I work through an annual care program rather than one-off trimming or frequent visits. The focus is on guiding growth, maintaining structure, and reducing stress on plants over time — particularly in Northland’s fast-growing coastal conditions.

The result is a garden that stays calm, intentional, and well cared for, without needing constant attention.

Rather than responding to overgrowth as it appears, I work with the garden through the year — making small, well-judged decisions that protect plant health and preserve structure.

In Northland, frequent cutting often creates more work, not less. This program reduces that cycle by intervening at the right moments, not all the time.

Driven by passion

I’ve always been drawn to structure — the way a well-shaped hedge or a carefully guided plant can completely change how a garden feels. Over time, working with coastal landscapes has taught me that good results don’t come from doing more, but from doing the right things at the right time.

I work slowly and deliberately, paying attention to how each property responds across the seasons. Wind, salt, growth patterns, and exposure all matter — and no two gardens behave the same way. My role is to read the landscape, make thoughtful decisions, and care for it in a way that supports both its health and its long-term form.

I limit the number of clients I work with each year so I can give each property my full attention. Some clients enjoy being lightly educated about what’s happening and why; others prefer to be completely hands-off and simply enjoy a garden that looks and feels right year round. Both approaches are welcome.

At its core, my work is about stewardship — caring for landscapes in a way that respects the land, the plants, and the people who live with them.

Optional Closing Line

If you’re looking for a long-term approach to hedge and landscape care — one grounded in experience, attention, and restraint — I’d be glad to explore whether working together feels aligned.

I work with landscapes the same way I like to work with people — by paying attention, moving carefully, and not forcing things before they’re ready.

Over the years, I’ve seen what happens when gardens are cut too often or managed without a long-term view. They lose structure, plants become stressed, and the work never really settles.

My approach is quieter. I work with a small number of properties and visit at key moments through the year, guiding growth rather than reacting to it. Most of my clients like that the garden is simply handled — it stays well-formed and healthy without them needing to think about it.

I enjoy working on properties where care, restraint, and trust matter.

Optional closing line:

I’m based in Northland and work primarily with coastal and large-scale residential properties.

Their attention to detail and commitment to quality truly stood out. We’ve already recommended them to others.
